Summary
Effective immediately, all CU@Home members who have not yet registered a Username should click the Register Username link on the CU@Home login page. You will login using the Username you select instead of your account number as in the past. Username registration takes just a few minutes, and you will be able to access your account immediately.
Immediately after or for some members in the following weeks, you will be prompted to select and answer challenge questions. MFA will prompt for answers to these questions when high-risk transactions are initiated or when activities inconsistent with your normal online behavior occur.

General
Q. What is Multifactor Authentication?
A. Multifactor Authentication is a security method by which extra validation of your identity takes place when you initiate high-risk transactions or when you perform an action that is different from your usual online behavior.
Q. What changes should I expect?
A. Beginning July 9th, members should click the Register Username link on the CU@Home login page. You will login using the Username you select instead of your account number as in the past. Username registration takes just a few minutes, and you will be able to access your account immediately.
In the following weeks, you will be prompted to select and answer challenge questions. MFA will prompt for answers to these questions when high-risk transactions are initiated or when activities inconsistent with your normal online behavior occur.
Q. How does it work?
A. MFA will build a profile of your normal online usage patterns within CU@Home. The system will also prompt you to select and answer 3 challenge questions. These questions will be presented later when extra authentication is required. Factors such as the computers you normally use to login to CU@Home will determine when you are prompted with a challenge question.
Q. What are high-risk transactions or actions considered different from my usual online behavior?
A. High-risk transactions may include accessing Online Bill Pay or a transfer of funds. Unusual online behavior may include logging in from a different computer than you normally use to access CU@Home.
Q. Why is KFCU implementing Multifactor Authentication?
A. Regulatory guidance from the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council requires that all financial institutions provide enhanced authentication for online access to financial information. MFA will provide extra assurance that your account is only accessed online by you and those you authorize.
Register a Username
Q. What do I need to know about registering a Username?
A. Usernames should follow these rules:
- 8 – 15 characters long
- Must begin with a letter
- No special characters (only letters and numbers)
Q. Do I need to register a second Username for a joint account holder?
A. No. If a joint account holder accesses your account online, they will use the same Username. One Username per account.
Q. Do I need to register a second Username for another account?
A. Yes. If you have more than one account number you must register a unique Username for each account you access through CU@Home. One Username per account.
Challenge Questions
Q. What do I need to know about selecting and answering Challenge Questions?
A. When you are prompted to answer challenge questions, answers must match exactly. Keep this in mind when you initially answer the questions.
For example, you select to answer the question: What was your high school mascot? You might answer: The East Central Hornet , A bee , or Hornet .
If you originally answered The East Central Hornet , and you later answer East Central Hornet , then the answers will not match. How you answer is up to you, but simple, one-word answers like Hornet are easier to remember exactly.
Q. Who should select and answer the Challenge Questions when they are collected? The Primary owner, a Joint owner or another person I've shared access with?
A. This is up to you, but all persons you've authorized to access the account online will need to know the answers to your selected questions. Without this information, others you've allowed to access your CU@Home account may be prevented from logging in or performing some types of transactions.
Q. Are the answers to Challenge Questions and the information collected for my personal profile secure?
A. Yes, the answers to your questions and personally identifying information are encrypted. Not even Keesler Federal staff will have access to your answers or profile data.
Q. I am having problems. What should I do?
A. Please contact Member Services or Electronic Services at 228-385-5500 or 1-888-KEESLER. A service representative will be happy to assist you.
