Congratulations to our December 5,000 Reasons winner – Camp Wilkes Youth Camp. Camp Wilkes was established in 1938 to provide Biloxi, MS area Boy and Girl Scouts a positive outdoor experience. Today, Camp Wilkes hosts events on 82 acres of semi-wilderness along the north shore of Biloxi’s Back Bay with group cabins, hiking trails, kitchen facilities, pavilions, an outdoor amphitheater, meeting room, and a 164,000 gallon pool.

Congratulations to our November 5,000 Reasons winner – Women’s Resource Center of Gulfport. This team empowers women and families facing unexpected pregnancies and provides accurate information, free services, and practical support with a holistic and compassionate approach. They give women the care and attention they need, empowering them to make informed decisions.

Congratulations to our October non-profit Gulf Coast Wildlife Rehab. The mission of Gulf Coast Wildlife Rehab, based in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, is to rehabilitate injured and/or orphaned wildlife found in the three Coastal Mississippi counties as well other areas of South Mississippi.

Volunteers spend countless hours nurturing and caring for a wide variety of native wildlife including raccoons, squirrels, Virgina opossums, song birds, birds of prey, turtles, and bobcats from intake until their release back into the natural habitat.

St. Vincent de Paul Society of Biloxi was voted as the September 5,000 Reasons charity giveaway winner. S.V.D.P. is non-profit faith-based organization managed and operated by an all-volunteer staff whose primary mission is to reach out to the needy within the area with material aid, encouragement, and spiritual support.

This donation will go towards financial assistance with food, rent, utilities, medicines, clothing and other necessities.

Members chose Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association as the August 5,000 reasons winner. The CVMA is a non-profit organization comprised of veterans from all military branches who ride motorcycles as a hobby. The CVMA aids veterans, veteran care facilities, veteran organizations and veteran charities.

As a Department of Defense credit union, Keesler Federal has a long history of supporting veterans and it’s no surprise members selected this worthy organization in the August vote. A check presentation was held on September 16. This donation will be used to help veterans in need along the MS Gulf Coast.
