Keesler Federal Credit Union Adds Educators to Appreciation Loan Program

Keesler Federal Credit Union has now added educators to its popular Appreciation Loan Program, which provides educators with 1% off approved rates on consumer loans. The program already provides this benefit to first

Educators who are employed or retired, including administration and support personnel, from pre-school, K-12, vocational and technical schools, community colleges, or four-year universities, and their spouses are eligible for the discounted loan rate.

“Our educators have arguably one of the most important roles in our communities with duties that extend far beyond the hours of a school day,” said James Hollingsworth, Chairman of Keesler Federal’s Board of Directors. “Keesler Federal is in a position to offer this opportunity as a way to honor our educators and the important role they play in the lives of our children and the communities they serve.”

The Appreciation Loan Program was first announced on Veterans Day 2025 for all Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, Retired, Veteran, or spouse with a valid Military ID or Veteran ID Card (VIC). In late February 2025, the program was expanded to include first responders employed by law enforcement, fire departments, dispatchers, and EMS were added.

Retirees and spouses of educators, military personnel, and first responders are also eligible.

The 1% loan discount applies to all consumer loans except Kreditline, Certificate or Share Secure loans, Lenders Protection loans, HELOCs, mortgages, or credit cards and cannot be combined with any other discount promotional rate or offer. This discounted loan program is a regular member benefit, not a short-term promotion.

Keesler Federal Mortgage Services also offers a Lender Credit of up to $1,200 for those educators, military and first responders. The member will not receive the 1% off the loan, but a lender credit of up to $1,200 toward closing costs or other fees.
